Path of Exile 2's early access has been kinda wild lately, and if you have not tried Druid yet, you are missing out on something that feels almost busted, especially if you build around Cold Wyvern Oracle and grab a few key poe 2 items for sale to smooth things out.

How The Cold Wyvern Oracle Feels To Play

The build really clicks once you unlock Wyvern form and start leaning into the Oracle side of things, because you are not just spamming skills, you are playing around windows of control and burst damage.

You dive into packs with Lunar Assault, freeze a big arc in front of you, then slam Cross Slash into the frozen targets and watch the explosions jump from one enemy to the next, wiping out screens in a way that feels a bit like the classic shatter builds from the first game, only faster and with less clunk.

Oracle's mechanics help a lot here, since the extra foresight and damage ramp make it easier to line up your peak damage right when everything is frozen, so after a few maps you start timing your skills almost without thinking about it.

Damage, Gear And The Awkward Squishiness

Here is the catch though, you are seriously squishy, and you notice it the second a rare mob survives the initial burst and actually swings at you.

The whole setup leans hard on freezing things first and asking questions later, so if you whiff Lunar Assault, or you are out of mana and your Cross Slash does not land in time, you can go from full to dead in a blink.

That is why gearing feels stressful but also kinda rewarding, because you are always chasing more cold penetration, crit chance and crit multi, while still trying to sneak in enough life or energy shield to not explode on contact.

A good Frostbite Talisman makes a huge difference to how reliably your explosions chain on higher tier maps, and pieces like Shavronne's Wrappings or similar energy shield gear can stop the build from feeling like a glass grenade that blows up in your own hands.

Early Game Grind And Currency Pressure

The rough part is the road to get there, since the early acts do not really show you what the build can do, and until you get the Wyvern talisman around Act 3, the character feels thirsty for mana and a bit underwhelming.

You end up chugging flasks and replacing half your gear every couple of levels, just to keep the damage and mana regen high enough to keep moving, which can be tiring if you only have a few hours a night to play.

Once you hit maps, the gear check ramps up pretty quickly, and if you do not have the time or patience to farm for good rare gloves, weapons and talismans, it is tempting to just buy some PoE 2 currency or items from third party sites to skip the worst of the grind and jump straight into the fun part where everything explodes.

Will It Get Nerfed And Should You Still Play It

It is hard to imagine GGG leaving the Cold Wyvern Oracle exactly as it is, because the clear speed and damage feel a step ahead of most other early access setups, and people are already joking that this is the next thing on the chopping block.

That said, right now it is one of those builds that makes the beta worth logging into, as long as you accept that you need to stay mobile, weave in and out of packs, and not just hold down a button and face tank everything.

If you want to lean into the power spike without spending all weekend farming, a lot of players just grab some currency or key items from places like eznpc and use that to lock in their core gear so they can focus on learning the rhythm of the build and enjoying the icy chaos while it is still on top.
