I would suggest that frequent changes to folder contents on multiple devices will make it go wrong.

Full cleanup of ALL accounts is not a solution(and re-add even helps not). I also noticed that some IMAP settings — like the root folder path (e.g. "INBOX") — are not available in the new Outlook, which makes troubleshooting more difficult. In the classic Outlook, I would normally check or adjust these. All default folder will show up as top-level ones and mail will start populating to the Inbox folder. For faster and more reliable delivery, add to your trusted senders list in your email software. Simply enter your email address OR username in order to reset your password.

To resolve the IMAP issue, I will explain different solutions in the upcoming Fix Outlook After Windows Update Issues section of the article. To set up a mail account, we can set the same standard name "mail.mydomain.com" as the incoming and outgoing mail server. I was a little hesitant but went ahead and let it completely remove all the synced items from the account off of my iPhone.

Creating a new OST file clears up a host of weird problems with Outlook. This also caused some issues as outlook did not know where to store deleted or sent items and through up several errors. What about changing the root folder path, in account settings, to "Inbox". It seems to do the send and Outlook stuck updating folders solution receive and get new mail when in offline mode, but not when online.

I have all desktop alerts turned off I prefer it this way I don't need all of that. I just want to be able to look and see new message. Even if I have an account with zero message I need to click to see the new ones there are no numbers appear. I am also running QuickFolders and its the same nothing shows up on those tabs until i physically click on them. Ok so my mistake the Properties option is there when right clicking folder - I was only focused on right clicking on the email address to take me to server setting I was not clicking on the actual folder. I right click a folder and Properties and it take me to attached windows.

My accounts in Mail app stopped to sync post update

I am using TB for just three weeks now and I have issues daily modern authentication troubleshooting when sending mail with no attachments the outgoing mail server will time out. Since the sync issue is universal it appears to be a global issue. Perhaps something in TB needs to be tweaked. I have no firewall monitors running during the day that would interfere just the vpn. With that said - the "delayed syncing" issue that I am experiencing is happening on Inbox as well as Junk folders.

While outlook supports IMAP, it doesn’t really want to work with it, so not surprised you are having some troubles. My phone, which I have no problems with, is behind the same router/firewall as the PC on a regular basis. The issue persists with PC connected directly to the internet with no router or firewall in between.

  • The problem can be caused by either improper settings or a damaged send/receive group within Outlook.
  • Microsoft, gmail and other popular accounts should sync automatically, but if they don't, I'm inclined to think it's due to the VPN or a security/antivirus app that is scanning the TB profile folder.
  • I checked on web mail here it is.one account is configured on two computers, one is configured with POP & second is IMAP.
  • Decided to just try completely removing my Gmail account, the one that wasn’t syncing with the Mail App after the iOS 18 update.
  • Everything works great for the most part, except with our IMAP users.

I did see a response from a MS person that said it was working as intended, that it wouldn’t refresh the folder until it was selected. Although that seems like a load of BS, but could just be a con to try to migrate people to exchange at a higher cost. I know that sometimes when doing it, it can take a moment for the rest of the folders to kick back in. Also then you can’t make folders under the Inbox folder, you have to make it in a different folder and drag it out. Mohit is a Microsoft Certified expert for all things Microsoft. If I click off of inbox and down to sent item, then click back on inbox, all of the new mail will populate. The problem can be caused by either improper settings or a damaged send/receive group within Outlook. At first, I was thinking it may be an issue with certificates, but it's not... I went to a bunch of online TLS tests and the mail server is fine and the certificates are trusted... So only wait when some "smarties" from apple IT solve problem in app ... Apple programmers use no CD/CI - simple sometimes update by "sales-manager requests", and without any critical-bug-checks ...

We only have a handful of people who use the their email across multiple devices at the corporate office. Just a question - why not look at office 365? Mailbox only support is like $6 a month or less, and it is proper exchange, enabling better syncing etc. You should look at your Outlook desktop client settings to review the default synchronization schedule and tweak anything you can to get it to poll Google's IMAP servers more frequently. I access the IMAP servers from 3 different machines, and they all see the changes from each other. The problem is that the some changes are not reflected in the Gmail web app.
