As a proud member of the Debt Buddy team, I get to do something genuinely meaningful every single day — I help Australians find their way out of debt. That might sound simple, but for the people sitting across from me, it is anything but. Debt has a way of touching every part of a person's life — their sleep, their relationships, their confidence, and their sense of the future. At Debt Buddy, we take that seriously.
Debt Buddy has been operating since 2014, built from the ground up by Peter Curtis with a very deliberate purpose — to create a debt relief practice that actually puts the client first. Not the creditors. Not the numbers. The person. That founding philosophy is alive in every consultation we conduct, every proposal we prepare, and every agreement we administer on behalf of the people who trust us with some of the most difficult moments of their financial lives.
In my role, I work with individuals and families across Australia who are facing a wide range of debt challenges. Some are dealing with credit card debt that has quietly grown out of control. Others are managing multiple personal loans with repayments they simply cannot sustain. Some have already received legal notices and are not sure what their rights are. Whatever the situation, my job is to listen first, assess thoroughly, and then present every available option — clearly, honestly, and without pressure.
Debt Buddy's service range covers everything from informal money management plans and financial hardship assistance through to debt consolidation and formal solutions like a Part 9 Debt Agreement. We do not steer clients toward any particular outcome. We present the full picture, explain what each path looks like in practical terms, and let the client make the informed decision that is right for their life.
