Top Black Friday and Cyber Monday Robot
Vacuum DealsIf you've ever thought of get a robot vacuum, now is the time to get one. CNET's top-rated models will be available during Black Friday and Cyber Monday with discounts as high as 57%..
The Roborock Q7 Max is a powerful robot that has smart mapping and app-based no go zones. Its run time of 180 minutes is impressive. It also automatically replenishes and self-empties its water tank.
1. Roomba j7+ iRobot from iRobot.
The Roomba J7+ is iRobot's smartest robot vacuum to date. The most significant innovation is its camera-based obstacle-detection system. This uses AI to identify objects such as charging cables and shoes. It's also the first to automatically send you a photo of the object it comes across so you can tell it to stay clear of it in the future.
The Combo J7+ is the most effective mop-bot we've ever tested, removing dirt and spills with ease while leaving no trace it was there. It's simple to control via the iRobot Home app, which allows you to schedule cleaning times and create Keep Out Zones to ensure it doesn't clean areas you don't want it to. It's also compatible with Alexa and Google Assistant, so you can control it from start to stop using your voice.
Its design is also a step above the competition and features a sleek, top piece that looks more like a toy than a loud, obnoxious one. Clean Base's Automatic Dirt Disposal It also self-empties which can cut down on cleaning time.
In our tests, we found that the j7+ swiftly removed dust, dirt, and pet hair. Its counter-rotating rubber brush rolls kept the debris in one spot rather than sending it scattering around the floor. It was able to collect sand, small gravel and even a bit of grit. The majority of robots cannot achieve this feat. And all this without getting tangled up in our pet's shedding hair.
The j7+, although not as smart as the Roomba S9, which costs $1,217and Self-Emptying Vacuum Robot from iRobot, and cannot clean the stairs, is still an option for those who require both a vacuum and a mop. It's not too expensive and the iRobot App makes it simple to use.
The iRobot Home App is easy to use, but we found it less reliable as other robotic cleaner apps. It can take a while to download updates and it can be difficult to know whether they're working until you see them in action.
2. Roborock Q5+
If you want a robot vacuum cleaner that does more than just clean your floors, a hybrid is the best option. These robots come with a water tank so they can vacuum and mop simultaneously. They also come with a variety of additional features, such as smart mapping, small obstacles avoidance, and the ability to dry and wash mopping pads. The negative is that they can be expensive at retail price, but on Black Friday and Cyber Monday they often drop in price.
Roborock is the manufacturer of several of our top robotic vacuums and the Q5+ does not fail to impress. It's their cheapest auto-empty model. While it lacks some of the features you'll find on higher-end models (like no-go zones and multi-story memory) it's still an excellent option if you're willing sacrifice a little to save hundreds of dollars.
The Q5+ is notably gentle around obstacles like table legs and walls, which makes it an excellent option for homes with a lot of furniture. It's also very thorough in cleaning up dust bunnies. This is a place where many robot vacuums that are less expensive do not excel in. The technology for navigation in the Q5+ is superb too, with very little missed corners and along walls.
Like other Roborock devices as well, the Q5+ can be controlled by the buttons on the device itself or through the Roborock app. The app lets you start and stop cleaning. You can also set up schedules, create virtual barriers and no-go areas or modify your home map or re-label rooms.
If you choose the Q5+ model, it includes a new auto emptying dock that is designed to make the robot easier to maintain. It requires a screwdriver install, but once in place the process of emptying the bin is relatively easy. It also features a large LCD display, which is nice to have when you're setting up schedules or adjusting settings. This isn't a necessary feature for the majority of people however it can help you keep the track of the intervals between maintenance for your robot easily.
3. Narwal Freo X Ultra
The Freo X Ultra is a well-rounded robot mop and vacuum that's astonishingly clever in its vacuuming and mopping capabilities. Its design is among the best in the industry however it's quite expensive.
It is a relatively small base station that looks beautiful and can be hidden when not in use. The station's most appealing factor is its ability to automate various tasks and functions that most other robots leave up to you. It can keep clean and dirty water and electrolyze and heat the water. Most other robovacs will require you to do this.
Its vacuuming performance is also impressive. It's the few robovacs I've tested that does a really good job of collecting debris from bare floors, and it's not nearly as loud as the more expensive Roomba 980 or iRobot the 900 series.
The Freo X Ultra is not without faults, particularly when it comes to navigation. Its LiDAR sensors and laser sensors aren't as reliable and reliable as other robovacs. This means that it is prone to getting stuck or get confused in certain corners or rooms in the house. It's not able climb stairs as well as competitors,, and it doesn't have a dock that lets you to set up an exclusive cleaning zone for carpets that are soft.
The Freo X Ultra robot vacuum and mop is a great choice for those who want an automated vacuum that can do everything.
If you're looking to save some cash or simply don't care about the limitations of this robot, there are plenty of alternatives available, including a lot of eufy models priced substantially less. The Eufy Qrevo curv, for example is less expensive however it comes with many more features, like stair climbing and a full-function Dock, with the ability to provide a more thorough vacuuming experience on bare floors carpets, low-pile carpets and even high-pile ones.
4. Eufy RoboVac G30
Eufy is an Anker company that has a long history of creating robot vacuums that offer the perfect combination of features, performance and price. The G30 Hybrid is no different it offers a high-quality cleaning of hard floors and mopping, carpets and other surfaces at a price that is affordable. It's easy to setup simply by snapping one of the side brushes on, turn it on, and plug it into the charging dock. The app walks you through the steps needed to connect it to your Wi-Fi. After that, the G30 is ready to go. You'll need to leave the dock near an electrical outlet and enough space to allow it to move but.
The G30 is small, 2.85 inches tall to be precise It will fit under many sofas and other furniture with low clearance. Its design is a little more modest than other models, sporting sleek black finish and three physical buttons: Auto Cleaning start/pause, Recharge, and Spot Cleaning (which cleans the area in a spiral pattern for two minutes). You can also connect the G30 to Amazon Alexa or Google Home to do unscheduled cleaning with voice commands.
The most important characteristic that makes the G30 apart from most competitors is the way it cleans. It uses a built-in map to create an image of the immovable objects in its path and then keeps track of what it has already cleaned and where it can't access. It automatically returns to the base to recharge, and then begins cleaning where it left off.
The elegant G30 isn't without faults however. The iRobot Roomba 675 is much better constructed, has lower recurring costs, charges faster and has a similar battery life. It also offers better performance on floors with no carpet and carpets with a low pile. It also has a larger dust bin that doesn't have to be emptied as often and comes with an array of boundaries to restrict it from certain areas. The G30 on the other hand, is more affordable and much simpler to maintain. Its smaller size means that it doesn't have to be emptied as often and it's less difficulty with bulky items such as cereal.
